Black women are often expected to stay strong, stay productive, stay composed, and keep pushing—regardless of what’s happening internally or externally.

This experience was created as a pause from all of that.

SAVE MY SPOT!

Because your nervous system deserves freedom too.

Through guided intention setting, meditation, therapeutic sound frequencies, and somatic tremoring, we’ll support the body in releasing stored stress, cortisol buildup, adrenaline overload, and pinned-up tension.

This is not a performance.
This is not another networking event.
This is a space to exhale.

Why tremoring and sound work?

Your nervous system cannot fully reset while constantly taking in information.

Movement and frequency sounds remove the input.

And when the constant input stops… your system can:

  • Slow down
  • Reorganize
  • Release tension
  • Restore energy

Shift your body out of chronic stress.
It’s active recovery.

ALEXIS OVERSTREET, MSW, LCSW

Alexis Overstreet is a psychotherapist, somatic practitioner, and the Founder of Metaspace Counseling & Metaspace Wellness, a boutique wellness firm supporting high-pressure leaders and helping communities rethink the way we approach stress, burnout, and healing.

Through experiential workshops, retreats, and body-based wellness experiences, Alexis teaches practical nervous system skills that help people release stress stored in the

Alexis began her own tremoring journey four years ago during the pandemic while struggling with chronic sciatica. After incorporating tremoring and the MELT Method into her wellness practice, her sciatica symptoms resolved—and have not returned since. Since then, she has become passionate about helping others reconnect with their bodies and jokingly admits she tries to get almost everyone she meets “on the floor” to tremor.

Alexis is especially passionate about creating spaces where Black women and helping professionals can soften, reconnect with themselves, and experience wellness beyond productivity culture. Her approach is grounded, accessible, and deeply rooted in the belief that healing is not just mental—it lives in the body, too.

When she’s not facilitating wellness experiences, you can find Alexis dancing, sipping green smoothies, and treating hydration like it's a hobby.

SHAYLA HERNDON-EDMUNDS

Shayla Herndon-Edmunds is the founder of Oh My Goodness Wellness Bar, a wellness boutique rooted in natural healing, nervous system restoration, and whole-body care.

What began in 2015 as Shayla creating homemade remedies to support her son’s eczema and her family’s wellness quickly evolved into a growing community-centered wellness brand. After realizing many families were searching for healthier, more intentional ways to care for themselves, she launched OMG as an online boutique featuring handcrafted wellness products including body butters, soaps, candles, lotions, and more. Her signature “Mommy’s Belly Butter” was even endorsed by actress Keshia Knight Pulliam during her pregnancy journey.

Shayla’s work is grounded in the belief that healing should feel accessible, nurturing, and deeply connected to community. Through sound frequency and intentional wellness experiences, she creates spaces that support calmness, release, and nervous system restoration.

THIS RETREAT IS PERFECT FOR:

Black women, helpers, caregivers, truth tellers, community builders, and high-capacity humans who feel the weight of constantly holding everything together.

It’s for those navigating the emotional exhaustion of world events, nonstop notifications, overstimulation, decision fatigue, and the invisible labor of caring for others while rarely receiving care themselves.

This experience is for women doing meaningful work in the world—but whose nervous systems rarely get a true moment of quiet.

If you’re curious about sound baths, tremoring, or somatic healing but feel intimidated or unsure where to begin, this is a supportive and accessible introduction.

And if you already have a wellness, meditation, or body-based practice, this gathering offers an opportunity to deepen your relationship with rest, release, and community care.
